People always ask me how they can save on their auto insurance. Although I can't share all of my secrects, because my competitors may read this, I will tell you some general ideas to follow.
First, don't assume that because you shopped your insurance 5 years ago or even 2 years ago that you are still getting the best rate. We strongly encourage you to shop your insurance every couple of years; or better yet, use a broker such as Insurance Professionals of Arizona that can do the shopping for you. Second, and this probably goes without saying, keep your foot off the pedal. Speeding tickets and other moving violations will increase your rate and tickets effect your rates negatively for up to 5 years. If you do get a ticket, go to driving school and get it expunged; you will save your save hundreds of dollars by doing so. It's worth it.
Third, ask your agent to review possible discounts with you. I believe most agents want to get a low premium for their clients, however, agents don't always think of everything. Asking them to review possible discounts with you might jar their memory. I know one carrier that offers an education discount but because agents are sometimes wary of asking clients what the highest level of education they have completed is (because of fear the client might be embarrassed) this discount often gets overlooked.
